Khopra Ridge Community Trek

Overview

Kopra Ridge Community Trek is newly developed trekking route in Annapurna Region. And this trek is one of the best short treks in Nepal which will allows you the best views of mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. This trek offers you the best views of mount Annapurna, Dhaulagiri; experience the classic trek route including villages, wildlife and wide range alpine landscape.  You can also see wonderful mountain views from Kopra Ridge especially; you’ll see the breathtaking views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang and Nilgiri, Mount Machhapuchhre and Mount Hiunchuli.

This trek is one less crowded trekking trails of Annapurna region of Nepal. Kopra is located away from the busier trails of Annapurna and during this trek you’ll stay in community lodge. This trek is taken as  a best alternative for Ghorepani Poon Hill trek.

 

Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, you’ll be met at the airport by our representative (they’ll have the Trekking Experts signboard if you’ve booked direct or the logo of your agent if you are booked through your agent).

Then you’ll have a short drive to the hotel. After arrival in hotel, you’ll be served with welcome drink and will start briefing about your programs and collect necessary documents for permit for the trekking.

After breakfast at hotel in Kathmandu, today you’ll drive to Pokhara with our trekking team. You’ll be picked up trekking staff and will drive to Pokhara. It will take about 6-7 hours drive to reach Pokhara. On the way you’ll lunch at lunch stop. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you’ll rest and then will drive to Nayapool which will take about 1.5 hrs from Pokhara.

From Nayapool, our porter will pack up your baggage and you’ll start today’s short trek to Birethanti. Overnight at lodge.
Today, after breakfast at lodge, you’ll head towards Ghandruk though the bank of Modi River. The trail passes through village though passing a beautiful village Syauli Bazaar (1220m) and climb to Kimche (1640m) until higher part after that flat and uphill to Ghandruk village (1940m). On the trail you will see beautiful view of Modi Khola, Annapurna south, Hiunchuli, fishtail and beautiful landscape. Ghandrung is a beautiful village from here you’ll views mount Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchare. Overnight at lodge.
After breakfast in Ghandruk, you’ll continue upwards through Deurali and into the forest then through rhododendron forests and over a small pass to Tadapani. The trail cultivated and terraced landscape into dense rain forest with many rhododendrons, orchids and ferns.

Upon arrival at Tadapani, you’ll check-in at lodge. And then you’ll free to time explore around. From Tadapani you’ll have a good view of the Annapurna massif. Overnight at lodge

As always after breakfast, you’ll continue trek. Today’s trek to Bayeli will lead you through rhododendron and oak forest following and the trail originally used by villagers from Ghandruk to take their pet animals such as buffaloes, goat, sheet to the higher pastures. First you’ll ascend to the passes and then you’ll reach Bayeli Kharka. From here community lodges starts. From here you’ll view the west side of Mount Dhaulagiri (lat. 8167m), the seventh highest mountain in the world. Overnight community lodge.
After breakfast beautiful breakfast with the view of world’s seventh highest peak Mount Dhaulagiri (alt. 8167m), you’ll trek to Khopra ridge. The trail leads you to a short descent along a mountain slope to the foothills of the nearly 8,000 m high Bara Shikar. And you’ll reach Khopra Ridge.

This ridge offers you a breathtaking 360 degree view. From here you’ll view Mount Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Fang and Annapurna South. Overnight community lodge.
Today is fully free day to rest or explore around. After breakfast you’ll begin trekking from around six in the morning towards the Khayere Lake from where we attain excellent views of the Fang and surrounding mountains. Considered to be a sacred lake by the Hindus, it is believed that bathing in the lake will help attain Nirvana. As Hinduism and Buddhism are intricately related in Nepal, we can even see a number of Hindu and Buddhist shrines on the lakeside. For those of us who do not want to walk all the way to the lake, a half day walk from Khopra can also be arranged. Packed lunch will be prepared for today’s hiking. Overnight community lodge.
After breakfast in Khopra, you’ll descent to to Upper Chistibung which will take about an hour. And will trek down to Swanta. During the trek you’ll have more views of Mount Dhaulagiri with this mountain providing a lovely backdrop to the terraced fields and traditional houses in the nearby villages. Upon arrival at Swanta village, you’ll check-in at lodge. Overnight at community lodge.

From Swanta you’ll descend to Ulleri. On the way you’ll pass through the villages, fields to a small river and local water mill. And then you’ll cross the suspension bridge and head upwards to the village of Chittre, where we’ll join the main trekking trail at Ghorepani. From Ghorepani, you’ll again descend through rhododendron forest to Ulleri where we stay the night. Overnight at lodge
After breakfast at Ulleri, first you’ll trek to Nayapool and drive to Pokhara. On way to Nayapul, you’ll get to enjoy the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. Trek will end at Nayapul and from there you’ll drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful city with the magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manaslu (8156m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), the five peaks of Annapurna and others. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you’ll check at hotel. You may also stroll in the streets of Pokhara and just enjoy being in one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal. Overnight at hotel
From Pokhara, after breakfast, you’ll drive to Kathmandu. Enroute you’ll pass through Damauli,, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. Also you see the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll check-in at hotel and free time. Overnight at hotel
Today is fully free for your shopping or rest at hotel. You may visit the most visited places such Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambunath, Bhaktapur, Patan etc. Overnight at hotel.

Upon your flight time, you’ll be transfer to airport before 3 hrs of your flight time.
